I am Raj.
Well, this may be the most overused introductory statement in recent scholarly articles and blogs, but technology is changing the way we do things. Businesses, especially, have adapted to the changing, globalizing environment.
Amazon is a business that has taken advantage of social media and online shopping. The company delivers products all over the world, and even use drones to ship packages. They have retail stores, but most of their sales are made online. Farber (2016) states that Amazon’s e-commerce rose by 15%, and made $82.7 billion in sales over a 12-month span in 2015/16.
One way Amazon made such a large profit is because they offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount of money. Amazon also carries a large variety of products, making them ideal for consumers from all niches. They also use an automated system named “Alexa”, who allows users to place orders using their voice, among other functions.
Amazon uses Twitter to advertise products and promotions to a broad audience consisting of over 2 million people.
Amazon’s Twitter posts about products always provide a link sending people who click on it to the web page of the product.
Many more companies are looking online to social media to promote sales through cheap marketing campaigns. Social media used as a business tool can usually influence a business in a positive way, and businesses will continue to find innovative ways to utilize these tools.
