#Hashtag of the Week

In this day and age, one little comment online can turn into an internet phenomenon. The best place this can happen is in the beautiful world of twitter. One simple comment can spiral into the crazy new #hashtag of the week. The most recent victim of the twitter craziness is a Cracker Barrel restaurant in the US (yeah I thought it was just cheese too!!). A man named Bradley Reid Byrd had posted this one tweet towards the company, asking them why they had fired his wife for no reason, after ten years of service.

All it took was that one tweet before, the twitter world jumped on the band wagon as they do, and made the tweet into personal interest story it is today. Twitter users from all over posted to the companies page demanding answers, and creating the hashtag #justiceforbradswife and mocking the company and claiming to boycott until justice has been served.

Even a select few restaurants have joined in on the fun, and are using this situation to gain fame and business by joining the bandwagon and shaming the restaurant along with the other twitter users.

Even a church got in on the fun!

Twitter and social media can give anyone, and anything their 15 minutes of fame. And while the story is now old news and there is definitely more interesting things you can read about, I will say I’m still with this girl!  #Crackerbarellineedanswers!!
